For Pakora Batter
- 1 cup gram flour (besan)
- ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
- ½ teaspoon red chilli powder
- Salt to taste
- Water (as needed)
- Oil for deep frying
For Stuffing (optional)
- 2 boiled potatoes (mashed)
- 1 green chilli (finely chopped)
- ½ teaspoon garam masala
- Fresh coriander leaves

Step-by-Step Recipe
Step 1: Prepare the stuffing
In a bowl, add mashed potatoes, green chilli, garam masala, salt, and coriander leaves. Mix well and keep aside.
Step 2: Prepare the batter
In another bowl, add gram flour, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, and salt. Add water gradually and mix to make a smooth, thick batter.
Step 3: Assemble the bread pakora
Take one bread slice and spread the potato mixture evenly on it. Cover with another bread slice and press gently. Cut into halves if desired.
Step 4: Heat the oil
Heat oil in a deep pan on medium flame. Oil should be hot but not smoking.
Step 5: Fry the pakoras
Dip the stuffed bread slices into the batter, coating them well. Carefully drop them into hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy from both sides.
Step 6: Drain and serve
Remove the pakoras and place them on kitchen paper to remove excess oil. Serve hot.
